The Artist

The name of the artist is Manuel Avellanada Gomez. He was born on the 24th of December 1938 in Cieza, Spain. He started to study art in Murcia, When he was 29 he moved to Madrid to study in the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando. One year earlier he painted the poster of the Entierro de la sardina. In 2003 he painted his last painting in his study of Isla Plana, La Manga, Cartagena. He started painting in the study of art in Cieza. he makes landscapes and still life paintings, he’s been a painter for 65 years. He died on the 27th of august of 2003 in Cartagena.

The Museum

The Museum Of Fine Arts Of Murcia Its located in Murcia, Spain the museum was created in 1867 and it was opened to public in 1910. The timetable it’s from Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 2pm and from 5pm to 8pm, from Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 2pm and from 5pm to 8pm. Saturdays from 11am to 2pm and from 5pm to 8pm. Sundays and holidays from 11am to 2pm. July and August: From Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 11:00 to 14:00 December 24 and 31 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. CLOSED Every Monday, December 25, January 1 and 6, Good Friday, Bando de la Huerta and afternoon of the Entierro de la Sardina. The entrance to the museum it’s free and the exhibitions of the museum are on the first floor there are paintings of the Renaissance, on the second floor there are paintings by Italian and Spanish painters of the 17th century and on the third floor there are paintings of the 19th century.
